The Evolution of Conflict: From Fists to Mental Health
Lynn reflects on how the challenges facing students have fundamentally shifted over 34 years. In the early 90s, Lehi schools dealt with physical fights, drug use, and a small-town atmosphere (no stoplights). Today, physical violence is rare, but students face an 'unseen' crisis of anxiety, perfectionism, and suicidal ideation, exacerbated by modern pressures and sleep deprivation.
Life Lesson
As society solves old problems, new and more complex challenges inevitably emerge that require different tools to solve.
"We live in a really self-indulgent world where consumerism is so big and we live in that world where all this stuff and things are important and being able to be self-reliant in that self-indulgent world requires some growth."
